Employment of Immediate Family Members / Nepotism
The Marion-Dillon Board believes that the employment of immediate family members in the same department could lead to conflicts and problems with favoritism and employee morale.
Immediate family members of persons currently employed by MDCBDSN may be hired only if they will not be working in the same building or if it would create a direct supervisory or reporting relationship.
Current employees shall not work in the same building with their immediate family or supervise members of their immediate family as defined by policy.
For the purpose of this policy immediate family members will be defined as: spouse, parent, sibling, child, grandchild, grandparent. Exemptions may be made on a case by case basis with approval in writing by the executive director.
If such situations as above occurs, then the employee with the least seniority will be transferred or terminated.
