Employment Categories


Procedure:

PERMANENT FULL-TIME employees are those who are not in a temporary or probationary status and who are regularly scheduled to work MDCBDSN's full-time schedule. Generally, they are eligible for MDCBDSN's benefit package, subject to the terms, conditions, and limitations of each program.

PERMANENT PART-TIME employees are those who are assigned to a permanent position and who are regularly scheduled to work between twenty (20) and twenty-nine (29) hours. These employees receive all legally mandated benefits and shall earn annual leave and sick leave on a prorated basis. These employees will not be offered Health Insurance benefits.

TEMPORARY employees are not hired in permanent positions. Temporary employees temporarily supplement the work force. Temporary employees retain that status until notified of a change. Temporary employees are ineligible for other MDCBDSN benefit programs. These employees will not be offered Health Insurance benefits.

Purpose

To define the employment status categories for employees of MDCBDSN.
